REQUIEM LETTERS

This twin biography is a powerful commentary on a century which has refined genocidal killing into a fine art, which denies human values on a massive scale, and has practised some of the most horrifying examples of medical interference with impunity.

Ronald Senator and his first wife Dita were victims of all three. Dita was a miracle survivor of Auschwitz who died in 1981: Ronald was a miracle survivor of a lobotomy from the knife-happy days which mutilated some two hundred thousand persons and left them vegetables.

Senator’s record is astounding and wonderful ...(this book) is Ronald’s attempt to explore their very different experiences of a central 20th-century evil: the thorough, impersonal annihilation of human personality [London Spectator].

Requiem Letters is an indictment of this century’s record of inhumanity, and a rousing testament to the human capacity for survival--and for love.

Requiem Letters was featured in a 1997 coast-to-coast Bookshow broadcast on PBS in the USA, and in talks at many venues including the Royal Overseas League in London in a gala event promoted by the Spiro Institute. Judi Dench and Robert Rieti will star in a version now being adapted for radio and/or theater.

Deeply moving and haunting autobiographical memoir [US Publishers Weekly]
