Siberia

Siberia is a dramatic monologue by an aged German inmate of a Retirement Home. He feels imprisoned in another Siberia, echoing and recalling his imprisonment in Siberia after his capture by the Russians in World War Two. This highly acclaimed work by Felix Mitterer (left), Austria’s leading contemporary playwright, was translated and directed by Louis Fantasia (right) with original music and sound design by Ronald Senator (center). Alan Mandell played The Old Man in this American 1993 premiere in Los Angeles.
